Misalignment
As the spine is pulled out of alignment by uneven muscle tensions, it causes the rest of the skeletal structure to change shape. The hip girdle tilts, so one leg will appear shorter, the shoulder girdle tilts making one arm appear shorter. Shoulder and hip joints are affected . The rib cage is distorted putting undue pressure on internal organs causing them to spasm and malfunction.
It makes no sense to operate on any given point of the above skeletal structure without first balancing the musculo-skeletal system. Then and only then should the need for any operation be reassessed. Many of our patients have not found it necessary to have structural operations after a course of MNT to help balance their musculo-skeletal system. Many more have had relief from a wide range of diseases and are now enjoying a quality of life previously thought lost to them forever.
The Ripple Effect
Generally speaking pain is often not where the problem is. That is why we don't treat the symptom as most other practitioners do - instead we seek to address the real causes. You can't have just one tight muscle in your body - if one muscle is traumatised it affects the next and the next and so on, thus the ripple effect takes place. As more and more muscles spasm the skeletal system is further distorted, causing pain remote to the original problem. These become symptoms of the original problem and as the spine and entire skeletal system become distorted or misaligned other life force systems are compromised. These include the nervous, lymphatic, electrical and meridian systems. Blood flow to joints and limbs is restricted and toxins begin to build up in joints and tissue causing many other problems. Organs and glands are also affected. Amazingly these can all be symptoms of the original misalignment which demonstrates the need to address THE CAUSE, NOT THE SYMPTOM.
Emotions
Emotions play a very important part in musculo-skeletal balance and hence our health and well being. Emotional traumas cause the adrenal glands and kidneys to spasm, setting off a chain reaction in the muscular system. This in turn can pull the spine side-ways, resulting in scoliosis. This sequence of events is understood by the Muscle Neurology Therapist who is usually able to reverse the process by inducing the spine to realign itself.

Since many past traumas [emotional and physical] are locked into the body in various places their effects are residual, causing ongoing lack of wellbeing. These traumas can be from recent or past traumas right back to birth. As the Muscle Neurology Therapist unlocks these problem areas it is not uncommon for the patient to experience varying degrees of emotional release. It is necessary for the body to release these traumas to be able to get on with the process of healing. The results can be amazing and often unexpected.
