Why Does It Work?
The skeletal system is held together and controlled by 633 skeletal muscles. If any of the muscles are stressed or shortened, the skeleton will be distorted to a greater or lesser degree. Distortion of the skeletal system can and will affect the health and wellbeing of the individual in various ways. The most important effect is abnormal spinal curvature ie, scoliosis, excessive kyphosis or excessive lordosis.

The brain and spinal cord form the central nervous system, which delivers stimulation and messages to the various organs and glands via the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral nerves leave the spinal cord or central nervous system between each vertebra of the spinal column. Any unnatural distortion of the spinal alignment will affect the nerves trying to deliver stimulation and messages to the various organs and glands throughout the body. If the messages and stimulation from the brain to the organs and glands is compromised, they can't function properly.

> Muscle tensions will change the shape of the entire skeletal system particularly the spine and the rib cage. The rib cage is designed to protect the internal organs, however if it's shape is distorted it will put unwanted pressure on the internal organs. Any abnormal pressure on the internal organs, no matter how slight will cause them to spasm, resulting in various disorders or diseases.

> In short, Muscle Neurology Therapy (MNT) uses specific massage to activate nerve centres which induces the muscles to release their tension and return to their true length. Length is restored to the shortened muscle, allowing the antagonist or opposing muscle to return to its true length. As a result of this process the skeletal system is free to return to its true shape and alignment. The musculo-skeletal system is brought into balance, the whole life force systems of the body can begin to function correctly - making a much healthier YOU.
